In 2024, after 30+ years working in education across the Further Education and Skills and Awarding sectors, I set up Phase4 to provide high quality education consultancy, career coaching and mentoring services.

Education Consultancy

My aim is to share my skills and experience with education organisations and charities who have challenges or problems to solve.

Much of my experience has been gained in the context of ESOL, English/literacy, maths/numeracy and employability across the UK and internationally.

Over time, consultancy experience has involved curriculum development and management, interim leadership roles, qualification and product development and market exploration, building on my experience managing high-value qualification portfolios and category management, including international products and services.

I also work as a part-time consultant for NATECLA (National Association for Teaching English and other Community Languages to Adults), the national forum and professional organisation for ESOL teachers.

Career Coaching and Mentoring

I have had a long and interesting career spanning 40+ years. It’s mostly been challenging and fun, but there have been some moments where I found myself ‘stuck’, frustrated and wishing I’d known how to change direction.

Over time, I’ve developed as a manager and a leader, overcome occasional obstacles, but always learnt and grown from experience, and enjoyed supporting my own reports and teams to develop along the way.

I have worked for the private, public and third sectors holding roles at various levels, from voluntary to senior leadership positions with considerable responsibility.

Career development and management have always been fascinating to me, so in my later career I chose to study Career Coaching and Coaching Psychology at post graduate level to be able to provide the strongest possible foundation for evidence-based, deep and positive work with all my clients.

I am currently in Phase4 of my own career and it’s my happiest phase yet!
